Certified genuine M1935 Luftwaffe single decal German helmet manufactured by Quist in Esslingen

WW2 German M1935 Luftwaffe Single Decal Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) manufactured by Quist in Esslingen. The helmet shell is in excellent original condition with a outstanding patina commensurate with age and use. Almost all of the wartime dark feld-grau paint remains.   The factory applied Luftwaffe second pattern eagle decal is authentic and is also in excellent original condition.  The M1931 - Second Pattern Zinc liner system is original to the helmet with all three split pin rivet fasteners intact with their slotted washers. The steel liner band is manufacturer stamped and dated D.R.P. 1940. The original leather liner shows evidence of use but is in excellent undamaged condition missing only its original drawstring. The leather itself is lightly scuffed and worn in places. The side skirt of the helmet is very faintly stamped Q 64 and the rear skirt D159.  The manufacturers code Q indicates that this M35 Stahlhelm was produced by Quist in Esslingen. The 64 is a the size marking (64cm) and the D159 the helmet batch number. This helmet is also marked with the hand written letters H.L. on the rear neck guard, presumably the initials of its original owner.

For reference an excellent WW2 photo showing two German Luftwaffensoldaten belonging to Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 1. Hermann Göring wearing similar helmets is attached.  This helmet has not been restored and is in excellent original condition.
